What six things did Jesus say were essential about the Kingdom of God that will catch many by surprise?
Answer: Matthew 25:31-46
- Here's a list:
1. Feeding the Hungry (that is, "The poor").
2. Feeding the Thirsty.
3. Helping a stranger in our homes (The Lord Jesus may have been referring to anyone in need known as our neighbor, but neighbor doesn't necessary mean one living near us, but any person in need).
4. Clothing the Naked.
5. Heal the Sick
6. Visiting the inmates in prison and ministering to them according to how the Spirit of God leads. At times this includes not only visiting them, but do not go to visit them empty handed. Write to them, whenever is in our power buy them something they may need (so ask what they need). Pray with them when visiting them, and talk with them about the love of Jesus; what he did for them on the cross. Encourage them and talk to them about the plan of salvation. Many of these men and women will one day come out of prison as ministers of Christ evangelizing for the Kingdom of God.
God's Vision for the Kingdom of God requires, "Obedience" and He expects the following from us:
If we considered ourselves part of the Kingdom of God, then it's vital that we equip our lives with the truth of God's word so that we can allow the Holy Spirit to fill us to the brim of our hearts, so that we may moved forward with obedience to the Holy Spirit for the work of the Kingdom of God. Know then that it's required of each and everyone of us to fulfill our responsibilities and our calling to our Creator, by acting on God's word and applying it to our lives daily. Doing these things will give us the full assurance of God's joy and love in Christ Jesus the Lord. We will be equip to win souls for Christ, the loss, the needy, the poor and all who are willing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives for the Kingdom of God (Ephesians 2:10 & James 1:17-18).. To Him be the glory.
God bless!
